SUN CITY PALM DESERT RESIDENTS ENJOY A SECOND LUXURIOUS CLUBHOUSE

Sun City Palm Desert, the fastest growing active adult community in Southern California is proud to open its second clubhouse November 24. Shadow Hills Clubhouse is nearly 30,000 square feet and includes amenities not traditionally found in a community for retirement-age people.

Shadow Hills will include Sun City Palm Desert’s third restaurant, “Boulevards,” a casual bar and restaurant that is perfect for relaxing after a round of golf or gathering with friends to watch “the big game” or other major events.

A gorgeous billiards and game room will include eight billiard tables and other table games for residents and their guests to enjoy. A dance and aerobics studio and several multi-purpose rooms will be available for the many indoor recreational activities Sun City residents take pleasure in regularly.

Shadow Hills Clubhouse will make Sun City Palm Desert the first residential community in the Coachella Valley to offer its residents a Speakers Hall. The 200-seat lecture hall will feature theater-style seating, front screen projection and a built-in sound system, making it ideal for movie screenings, lectures, classes, seminars and other meetings. Every cushioned seat in the Speakers Hall has a lift-up desk top, which will make learning that much easier at Del Webb University, a cooperative project with College of the Desert, where residents can take college courses without leaving Sun City Palm Desert.

The current library at the Mountain View Clubhouse will move to the new Shadow Hills Clubhouse and nearly triple in size. This cyber-library will offer Internet access and thousands of books.

Residents can read comfortably among their favorite titles or take novels and periodicals home to read at their leisure.

The Shadow Hills Clubhouse grounds will reflect a park-like environment, with streams and waterfalls surrounding dozens of palm trees and other beautiful landscaping. A 4,200 square-foot outdoor resort-style swimming pool will feature spacious sun decks, a zero edge entry, as well as three lap lanes for exercise. A cabana area will be incorporated into the clubhouse near the bar/lounge to accommodate pool users and make outdoor food service convenient from the pool area.

An open-air party pavilion can be used for catered parties and evening events, and eight tournament-quality, lighted boccie courts will be located nearby.

The community’s single-family homes are available in 15 distinct models, designed for active living and the lifestyle of mature adults. Plans range in price from the mid $100,000s to the low $600,000s with hundreds of customizing options. Many plans can be built with a separate guesthouse. Monthly association fees are only about $118 per home at the gated community.

To visit Sun City Palm Desert, take Hwy 111 or I-10 to Washington Street and go north. Sun City is located one-half mile north of I-10. For information, visit the community’s website at www.suncity.com/palmdesert or phone 800-422-5932.
